First the lecture, then the meal. Every Wednesday, an art historian guides interested visitors around the exhibitions of the German Guggenheim Museum. After the half-hour lecture, lunch, - adapted to the theme of the current exhibition, - is served in the museum restaurant. This is a wonderful addition to the enjoyment of art. The food and lectures in this unusual lunch hour change every week. The idea was adopted from the lunch lectures at the Tate and the National Gallery in London and since opening in 1997, has been a feature of every exhibition held in the museum. A cafe and shop with highly original, artistic products is attached to the gallery. On Mondays, entrance to the museum is free. |
